Great Yarmouth harbour - Scour protection to quayside
Part of Great Yarmouth harbour is built of sheet piled walls in the channel of the river Yare. Here, considerable flows generated during the tidal cycle were eroding the front of the sheet piling, with the water level approaching the critical point for stability of the wall.
- Lean Sand Asphalt placed in bulk in front of the wall
- Material stored on quayside easily placed with crane and grab
- Rapid, cost effective solution
The project was commissioned by Great Yarmouth Borough Council.
